Went to see Attack the Block this week, it was pretty entertaining. Not amazing but well worth a watch. One of the main things that stood out was the brilliant style of filming and the epic music (above). It is a film that needs to be watched loud!

A micro 4/3 from Sony, the Nex-3. I've been playing around with it in store and it's a brilliant little thing. Although it lacks some classic features (viewfinder, manual control wheel) it makes up for it with a small size and awesome amount of newer features. The film is kind of ruined by its own style; it seems as though it is trying too hard to be funny, which completely takes away any seriousness or believability of the whole thing. I have read nothing but good reviews about this camera. It's the sort I want too, not too big, not too small. Micro Four Thirds they say; something to do with removing mirrors before the sensor to make the camera a lot smaller without sacrificing image quality. And it has 720p recording. Around £700 with 14-45 lens. I hate my compact even more now I want one of these. A good review from Gizmodo.

Recently for new music I have been using a few great blogs. The first is Fuckbadmusic, which is updated regularly and has tons of decent funky tunes. What a great show. I just bought the first series box set to see what it is like and I love it. The style of filming and acting took me a couple of episodes to get used to as it is quite relaxed, a lot like documentary film styles. The situations he gets into are brilliant, and some of the awkward moments are like nothing I have ever seen.

I just love this IPhone application. It basically turns your phone into a small 'musical instrument' which you can actually play tunes on if you look for the music scores on the applications forums (ocarina.smule.com). There's also a feature which lets you view a globe with people from around the world playing tunes in real time which is quite amazing to see. More pointless fun for IPhone apps.
